EPS Bio participates Hospitalar, Booth No. J50
—Hospitalar is the most completed and specialized healthcare fair in Brazil and Latin America, and it has been successfully held for 17 years. It is an international fair of products, equipment, services and technology for hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, health clinics and medical offices. Hospitalar 2011 will be held from 24 to 27 May in São Paulo, attracting over 90,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors all over the world.

—According to the International Diabetes Federation Atlas 4th Edition, diabetes already accounts for over 9% of all deaths in the adult population in the South and Central American Region and its prevalence is expected to increase by 65% in the next two decades. In the Caribbean Region, diabetes prevalence ranges between 10% and 12% in the adult population; Brazil and Mexico rank among the world’s top 10 countries with the largest population suffering from diabetes. Estimates of the annual direct medical care cost per person with diabetes in countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region ranged from around US$ 300 in Brazil, to around US$ 900 in countries of the Caribbean.
